Stability
How many times have you seen a medal mount that looks like it was just pulled from the bottom of a sea bag, all wrinkled and bent?
Most professional mounting services stabilize your medals by using fusible bonding web (a.k.a. Stitch Witchery) to fuse the front and back pieces of suspension ribbon together. This process is hit or miss depending on how long the heat is applied. But, regardless of how well it is bonded, there is little to no structural integrity added.
Other professional mounting services stabilize your medals by backing them with cardboard. This looks good for a while, but will eventually bend and wrinkle.
Here at Kruse Military Shop, we back every suspension ribbon with semirigid plastic, providing structural integrity while still allowing your medals to flex. This process keeps your suspension ribbons looking nice and flat far longer than the competition.
Once the medals are backed, they are individually mounted together to another piece of semirigid plastic, providing another layer of protection against the dreaded wrinkling that we have all seen.
